Wildlife Attractions in Orlando, Florida

If some of you may be Disney fans or movie geeks the attractions in Orlando, Florida will definitely keep you satisfied, but the more recent additions to the attraction groups has followed the theme of nature and wildlife. It all started with SeaWorld, an attraction park showing off the amazing display of Shamu the killer whale and various other aquatic creatures such as dolphins and sea lions. This was the formula for success for SeaWorld and the park branched out, opening sister parks such as Aquatica and Discovery Cove.

Another recent successful park which themes itself around wildlife and nature is Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. With over 2,700 animals, this is one of Americas largest zoological institutions, with tigers, orangutans and rhinos, it is no surprise then that Busch Gardens take strides to involve themselves in conservation.

However, it's not all animals and safari at Busch Gardens. To keep the whole family interested, you can find shows and attractions for all ages. Sesame Street Safari for Fun is aimed at younger children and features characters from the popular TV series such as Elmo and Big Bird.

Jungala - A jungle village located within the park allowing you to come face to face with Bengal tigers and orangutans.

Myombe Reserve - A misty habitat for the resident gorillas and chimps.

Edge of Africa - A self guided safari tour to see lions, hyenas and meerkats up close.

Not forgetting the fact that Busch Gardens has some of the most daring rollercoasters in the world including:

SheiKra - A vertical drop rollercoaster reaching speeds of up to 70mph.

Sand Serpant - A family rollercoaster, weaving in and out with hairpin turns and curves.

Montu - One of the tallest and longest rollercoaster in Busch Gardens and event the world!

Busch Gardens has also recently completed and opened the anticipated Cheetah Hunt rollercoaster. Opening in May 2011, this ride lets you experience the speed of the cheetah zipping past waterfalls and valleys.

All in all, Busch Gardens has evolved into a great park with the central theme of nature. It has grown in size over the years to what it is now; a 335-acre plot with amazing thrill rides and fascinating attractions. It is no surprise then that is has become one of the top parks to visit when travelling to Orlando, rivalling the popularity of even Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. It's advisable to plan in a day of your holiday time to visit this amazing park. The whole family will appreciate it!
