Orlando is one of the best vacation destinations for families. There are many fishermen that plan a trip to Orlando and they would love to get away for a day of fishing. There are lakes in Orlando and the surrounding areas such as Lake County to the north and Kissimmee to the south. Walt Disney World also offers guided fishing trips. The Disney World fishing trips are expensive, but the fishing is outstanding with lots of bass in the 2 to 4 pound range and bass in the 5 to 7 pound range being fairly common.
You also have the option of heading over to one of the coasts for some saltwater fishing. The Tampa area is under a two hour drive from Disney World on the west coast of Florida and the Space Coast is about an hour and a half drive from Disney World on the east coast of Florida. You can fish from the piers, the surf, bridges, from a rental boat or with a fishing guide or charter.
